The Big Lebowski
Joel Coen — USA — 1998 — 117 minutes — English with Czech subtitles
Jeff “The Dude” Lebowski is the laziest guy in greater Los Angeles. He loves bowling, White Russians, marijuana, and his rug. Due to a case of mistaken identity, he’s confused with a millionaire who shares his name — and through a series of absurd coincidences, The Dude becomes the target of a blackmail scheme. Instead of being compensated for his soiled rug, he ends up tasked with delivering ransom money for the rich Lebowski’s spoiled daughter, accompanied by his hopeless buddies. Things might have gone smoothly, if not for his friend Walter (John Goodman), who decides to pocket the ransom money — regardless of the consequences.
