SUMMER CINEMA IN THE KASÁRNA COURTYARD IS BACK!
Look Who’s Talking
Amy Heckerling — USA — 1989 — 93 minutes — ENG + CZ subtitles
Thirty-three-year-old accountant Molly becomes pregnant, but her married lover Albert keeps postponing his divorce. When Molly catches him with a new mistress late in her pregnancy, the dramatic confrontation triggers labor. In a panic, she hops into the cab of a caring driver named James, who ends up being mistaken for the father at the hospital and is roped into assisting with the delivery. As baby Mikey begins to explore the world and Molly faces the challenges of single motherhood, James becomes a frequent and welcome presence in their lives. Molly later discovers that James used her address to get his senile grandfather into a retirement home, but they strike a deal — he’ll babysit Mikey in return. Though Molly enjoys spending time with the warm, funny taxi driver, she starts searching for a more “suitable” father figure. Even Albert re-enters the picture as a candidate, but when he visits Mikey, James throws him out. This leads to a fight between Molly and James, and he storms off. Soon, however, Molly realizes Albert isn’t the right man after all. When she’s called to the retirement home over an issue with James’s grandfather, the unexpected reunion shows her what she’s had right beside her all along.
