Open Drawing Sessions (in English)
Come as you are and take a moment to slow down. These open drawing sessions offer a space to relax, tune in, and let your hand move freely across the paper. No drawing skills are needed — the focus is on intuitive expression, calm, and simply being together.
You’re welcome to draw in silence or engage in light conversation. There’s no pressure to create anything “good” or “finished” — it’s all about the process.
The sessions are open-format and last around 3 to 5 hours. Feel free to join or leave whenever it feels right for you.
All materials are provided, and participation. Entry to the meeting is 200 CZK
We look forward to drawing together!
About lector Aliaksandra Yefimava
I was born and raised in Belarus, and I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. Art has always been a source of support and stability for me. I graduated from an art gymnasium with a degree as a painter, and I also do tattoos.
The idea of holding drawing sessions came to me during a difficult emotional period. Meeting with friends and drawing purely for the process (without pressure or expectations) gave me a lot of strength. That experience inspired me to create a similar space for others. I ran drawing sessions at Petrohradska for about six to eight months. Over that time, a small community of regular participants formed. Many of them became friends with each other and me (which I see as one of the most rewarding outcomes of the project).
During each session, I create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where participants feel safe and inspired. I draw alongside them, share experiences, and also learn from others. My role included many things:
Choosing playful or unusual flowers, fruits, and vegetables for the tables as inspiration
Purchasing and maintaining art materials, ensuring everyone had access to good paper and the chance to try new tools
Collecting interesting/inspiring books
Greet participants and explain the idea behind the session
Offering help when needed
Setting up lighting and music to slow the group down and create a meditative mood
