Hello, September!
AFTERNOON FOR CHILDREN AT KARLÍN BARRACKS
We’re returning home from summer holidays, putting on our school backpacks, and watching for the first fallen leaves. Autumn is in the air, and September 1st is here. What will the new school year bring? How many friendships and lessons? How much joy and new responsibilities? We invite all children and their parents to an afternoon welcoming the new school year at the Karlín Barracks! In addition to an awesome playground, we’ve prepared a program to make the first day of September even more unforgettable. Play a scavenger hunt organized by the Karlín Scouts, join the photography workshop Little Photographers by Free Cinema, or enjoy the fairy tale Hero from Damúza Studio. A SWAP will run throughout the event – bring what you no longer need and take home some treasures.
SCHEDULE:
15:00 – 17:00 — Free Cinema: Little Photographers workshop
17:00 – 17:45 — Children’s performance Hero
All day — Children’s SWAP
All day — Scavenger hunt for children by Karlín Scouts
FREE CINEMA (ages 7+)
A photography workshop based on the book Little Photographers. We’ll introduce the book, which won the award for the most beautiful book of the year in the “Textbooks and Didactic Materials” category. It features beautiful illustrations and a charming story. Then we’ll explore one chapter in detail: the game with perspective! Bring your mobile phones, and we’ll show you fun and original tricks you can use in your own creations. The cherry on top: we’ll also get acquainted with analog cameras, try them out, and everyone will take home a photo from a favorite Instax camera.
DAMÚZA: HERO (ages 6+)
A fairy tale about heroism, fear, and the fear of heroism. A one-man puppet show about facing your own destiny.
CHILDREN’S SWAP
Bring school supplies, clothes, art and sports materials, toys, or books, and exchange them for something new.
SCAVENGER HUNT
A battle game by the Karlín Scouts for children aged 6 – 12 (younger children can join with parents or older siblings).
CREATIVE WORKSHOP IN ENGLISH WITH ALIAKSANDRA YEFIMAVANOVA
Join us for a creative afternoon for kids and parents! We’ll make colorful cardboard masks and decorate them with paints, glitter, and fun details. Older kids and parents can enjoy a bright still life for a calm drawing session.
