AFTER­NOON FOR CHIL­DREN AT KAR­LÍN BARRACKS

We’re return­ing home from sum­mer hol­i­days, putting on our school back­packs, and watch­ing for the first fall­en leaves. Autumn is in the air, and Sep­tem­ber 1^st is here. What will the new school year bring? How many friend­ships and lessons? How much joy and new respon­si­bil­i­ties? We invite all chil­dren and their par­ents to an after­noon wel­com­ing the new school year at the Kar­lín Bar­racks! In addi­tion to an awe­some play­ground, we’ve pre­pared a pro­gram to make the first day of Sep­tem­ber even more unfor­get­table. Play a scav­enger hunt orga­nized by the Kar­lín Scouts, join the pho­tog­ra­phy work­shop Lit­tle Pho­tog­ra­phers by Free Cin­e­ma, or enjoy the fairy tale Hero from Damúza Stu­dio. A SWAP will run through­out the event – bring what you no longer need and take home some treasures.

FREE CIN­E­MA (ages 7+)
A pho­tog­ra­phy work­shop based on the book Lit­tle Pho­tog­ra­phers. We’ll intro­duce the book, which won the award for the most beau­ti­ful book of the year in the ​“Text­books and Didac­tic Mate­ri­als” cat­e­go­ry. It fea­tures beau­ti­ful illus­tra­tions and a charm­ing sto­ry. Then we’ll explore one chap­ter in detail: the game with per­spec­tive! Bring your mobile phones, and we’ll show you fun and orig­i­nal tricks you can use in your own cre­ations. The cher­ry on top: we’ll also get acquaint­ed with ana­log cam­eras, try them out, and every­one will take home a pho­to from a favorite Instax camera.

DAMÚZA: HERO (ages 6+)
A fairy tale about hero­ism, fear, and the fear of hero­ism. A one-man pup­pet show about fac­ing your own destiny.

CHILDREN’S SWAP
Bring school sup­plies, clothes, art and sports mate­ri­als, toys, or books, and exchange them for some­thing new.

SCAV­ENGER HUNT
A bat­tle game by the Kar­lín Scouts for chil­dren aged 6 – 12 (younger chil­dren can join with par­ents or old­er siblings).

CRE­ATIVE WORK­SHOP IN ENG­LISH WITH ALI­AK­SAN­DRA YEFIMAVANOVA

Join us for a cre­ative after­noon for kids and par­ents! We’ll make col­or­ful card­board masks and dec­o­rate them with paints, glit­ter, and fun details. Old­er kids and par­ents can enjoy a bright still life for a calm draw­ing ses­sion.
